So, the arts is my passion, but i'm not nearly talented enough to be the musician or composer or actress i may want to be. however, i do have other good skills that i think could help me succeed as a producer. What does a Broadway producer exactly do, what are the figures (salary, first 2 years, 5 years, 10 or more) and what is the success rate? like are there producers starving on the streets like musicians? I would really like a career in the arts, but it would be nice if it were steady!

  1. Its really hard, i wont lie about that.

Many producers have worked there buts off, starting off as interns at Universal Studios from 3/4 years. Its a tough industry to crack into, but if you have THE PASSION, it might not be as hard. Salary varies, could be from 40 000 per annum, through to 150 000 and so on.

    Just do a little research.

  2. MONEY.... it takes lots and lots of MONEY because that is what producers do... they PRODUCE whatever it is they are producing.  Since they put all their money at risk to produce a stage play or a broadway musical... they certain CAN go broke if they have everything in a show that flops.
