  1. i no for a fact in Australia... You dont you dont need one, you just need all the licences Like Private licence and night rating ext and then when you have enough hours you can apply thats one way in aus.

  2. you should have 50/50 vision. physically fit. not afraid of heights.

  3. len is wrong. The requirement is that you have 20/40 vision with or without glasses or contacts. So if you have bad vision but iti s correctable you can still become an airline  pilot.

You get into a flight school, and after 16 you can make your first solo (pass a third-class medical exam). You get your private pilot certificate at age 17. Then you need to get your multi-engine and instrument ratings. At age 18 you get your commercial pilot certificate (pass second class medical exam. You need 250 cross-country flight log hours). You can choose to be a CFI (certified flight instructor) to help build up flight time.

You're gonna wanna get a four-year college degree. It is not required to get into the airlines, but it improves your chances of getting hired dramatically considering there is so much competition.

Some major airlines do not have a minimum age (well, above 18 of course) but base it off of your experience. In this case you would need a degree and an ATP meaning you must fly for a regional and get your ATP which you need 1500 hours. The minimal age for your ATP is 23, so for some majors the minimal may be 23. It all depends on the airline.

  4. Here's the Low-Down Ghost Rider :). it does not require a Degree, Many airlines have been known to Hire based on hours rather then Education. However many of the TOP paying Airlines (Southwest Airlines for example) who pay 18,000 a month require a 4 Year Degree AND a 737 Type rating (50,000 bucks outa your pocket). many of the smaller carriers and some of the big ones will take it into acount, but its one of many factors regarding if you get hired. Personally I will be going to Flightcareers.com as its a reasonable way to get a Liscence, An Interview, and an Associates of Applied Science in Aviation Technology :). I'd recommend though you get a Medical certificate first, that's what brings down most aspiring pilots. Loans for college are easy to get.

  5. Go to the nearest Magazine rack and buy a pilot's magazine. There are all kinds of schools in there. The last I noticed was run by a major airline. It was a year long in Florida and cost about $62,000.00. Sounds like a lot but the school took you all the way from ground school to muti-engine jet commercial and they offered job placement.
