In the US, starting pay is about 33K plus per diem while you are in school in OKC.  When you report to your duty station, the per diem stops, but as you certify on each position, your pay will increase until you reach CPC (certified professional controller) level.  CPC pay depends on the level of your facility.  The higher the traffic/complexity, the higher the pay.  At my facility, from entrance to the academy at OKC to achieving CPC level is running in the neighborhood or 24 months.
