  1. I am front row middle. So you would need to keep up the cardio that you're already doing, practice hitting a volleyball on the wall ( don't forget to reach high lol), and use ankle weights when doing your approach and blocking :]

    Good Luck

  2. you needa be a really good hitter and work on blocking, and spiking. if you're a good setter then you could be in the front too. so definately work on your spikes, sets, and blocks.

  3. front row is usually were good hitters are so you should become a good hitter.  Aslo blocking is also a must to be able to play in the front row... i play volleyball and front row is a lot more fun then back row but i also love hitting.

  4. It takes a serious talk with your coach.

Tell him/her that you want to try front row and you will put in extra time during practice, and at home. He/she should tell what you need to do, and get you some front row minutes during practice, and even in real games.

  5. You need to be a really good blocker so practice your transitioning and jumping. The taller u are the better. You also have to be a really good hitter so work on your approach and jumping and swinging. Also passing, even though u may get more passes back row, u still have to be ready for front row. Just practice alot extra like at home. Go to like a hitters or blockers camp, it'll help u. Talk to your coach too. :)

  6. Practice your hitting, blocking, and being able to retrive the ball out of the net, TRUST ME!! i am going to be a sopomore and my freshman year i played evey postion [my coach coulden't make up her mind] and now i am going to play front row.....if you have played before you probably know some blocking and hitting drills so just find something makeshift to a volleyball net at home and go for it, give it your all and NEVER give up.

    best of luck.

  7. Hitting and blocking.

Work your jump (jump training, weight training, technique)

Work your timing; a shorter player who always hits the ball at the top of her jump can be more effective than a taller player who mis-times her approach.

Work your control; move your hits all over the opposing court.  Watch the block and learn to hit around or roll/tim over.  Learn different swings for good sets/bad sets (flat or topspin, offspeed, etc.

If you are always putting an aggressive ball into your opponents court, with few mistakes, your coach will consider you for a front row spot.
