What does it take to become a division 1 swimmer?

i want to know what it takes to wind up swimming at a top collegite level.

do not all freshman swim?

if not.

it would be good to know soem time reqirements.

im a junior and my times go like this.

100 Breast 1:13

200 IM 2:25

100 Fly 1:09

200 Breast 2:37

  1. Yeah, sorry to point it out but those times aren't gonna get you into a Division 1 school. I'm not even a freshman yet and I have times as fast or faster than that.

    If you really want to swim in college you should go for like Division 2 or 3. That way, you may not be fast but there's no pressure and it's just for fun.


  2. To be honest with you, those times would not get you into a division 1 school for swimming, your best bet would be a lower division.

  3. That doesn't stack up very well. national D1 qualifying times for 2008 are:

    47.09  100fly.

    53.60  100 breast.

    1:46.09  200 IM.

    1:57.09 200 breast.
