  1. Discipline is the only thing you will need - If you master that, everything will be guided by it and fall in place.

  2. Different disciplines of martial arts value different things. Sometimes it's balance and control, otherwise strength and speed.

  3. well to be good at martial arts... it taakes years of training?

im not sure abt heart and believeing in it cuz my teacher never said anything about it.

  4. Dedication. You have to commit to what you want to be. without that, you might as well make rude noises

  5. well mma is a culmunation of various styles of martial arts. you are not just learning on style, you are learning multiple styles. i believe that it takes discipline, self-respect, good attitude, and dedication to become a good martial artist.

  6. practice, Practice, PRACTICE!

    The most important are:

    Dedication,

    Control,

    Discipline.

Aggression is counter productive (lack of self control.)

Skill comes with dedication, practice and time.

Athleticism is dependent on the martial art.

Martial arts can be modified to accommodate disabilities.

If you do not start with self control, it will come with practice, dedication, discipline and time.

  7. mix martial arts is different because they combine a mixture of brazilian jiu jitsu and judo and karate and taekwondo and boxing. to be a good martial artist it takes paitience, skill, dicipline and flexibilty

  8. In my school, we stress three things:

    Knowledge

    Skill

    Attitude.

Of those three, I put Attitude first.  Give me a student with good attitude and I will teach him the knowledge and work with him to improve his skill.  If the student has a bad attitude, his skill and knowledge may make him good, but he'll never be great and never be a black belt (at least at my school).

  9. a litle bit of everything there.

it will also take you many years to become good.

  10. I would say Discipline and knowledge are the most important parts of martial arts.

The more you know about the human body, martial arts etc.. etcc.. it only gives you more power for having the ability to have an idea what might happen if such and such happened.

Discipline is important as well, you should maintain a healthy, powerfull body and have confidence in whatever you are trying to do.

  11. the most important in my mind is focus and dedication those 2 will help you become a great martial artist you need to focus on what u are doing all the time and make sure ur doing it right and dedication u cant just give up u have to keep going at it the other ones that u listed are also very important u need all of those things all the time and keep them with u for the rest of ur life because if u dont u will get sloppy and end up like gangsters on the street when they fight because they cheat; another thing u need it brains because u have to know when u cant do it no matter how hard u try so u move on and go back to that later all those things will help u become a great and unique martial artist
