What does it take to become a legal voter?

So, I'm doing a project in English

(a bibliography i think?)

And I chose what does it take to become a legal voter.

But I can't find anything online.

So someone help please and quickly!

And by what does it take to become a legal voter

I mean how does a non-citizen gain citizenship

and also how a citizen register for voting

Your help will be very much apreciated!

  1. Not much, you must be a US citizen, over 18, with a pulse and you can pretty much get into the booths, sad really, all you have to do it go to your county's circuit clerk's office and register and you are good to go.


  2. A citizen can go to their county court house to register.  Non-citizens are put on a waiting list for citizenship and then have to take a test to become a citizen.

    If you are a citizen then you have to be 18 years old.  If you are a convicted felon then you cannot vote, which is kind of messed up.

  3. Non citizens Cannot legally vote. You must be 18 yrs. of age min. and register with the county clerk where you live they will send you the reg, card providing you meet the standards Gaining US citizenship is a long drawn out process. You have to live here for at least 5 yrs. and then apply. Fees are around $1500 USD. IT can take 18 to 24 mo. before you are notified.
