  1. i live in a fairly small town (about 15,000 people) and we had three car washes in town. One was a nice place, where you got it detailed, one was a small ma and pa shop that did an 'ok' job and the third is a drivethru. the only one that remains is the drive thru. My point: people dont have the time to sit and wait 20 minutes for a car wash. they are going to go drive thru or have a mobile car wash come to them. I would recomend starting a mobile car wash to make it more convienent for people, and there isnt a high overhead cost. just the soaps/suplies, gas, and water tank.

  2. You could start off cheap with just a bucket, water, soap and sponge, or you can go the whole 10 yards and lease premises/equipment and hire people, which will be the most expensive option.

You don't mention what your intentions are in regards to how you want to start.

  3. your prolly better doin what jon says & going mobile,  get a nice clean van & get a sign company to some good graphics for you & maybe a small add in local papers & c how you go...

but if you want to set somewhere up yourself..you will need a buisness loan or ready cash.. find a location to rent,  you will need to pay the first quater up front..get yourself all the right stuff , jetwashes & all cleaning fluids & get an official trading name 4 the company & insurance but be warned you will need to wash a lot of cars per week just to pay rent, rates, loans, taxes, insurance, never mind wages !!  going mobile is a safer way 2 start.       good luck

  4. Bucket of soapy water and a sponge. Good luck with your ambitious venture
