I suppose you should translate as "cute" or "unspoilt", but also a love of things which have those traits. It is hard to put in English. Like a newly opened flower, and the appreciation of it's beauty.

It means cute. But make sure you say kawaii not kowaii when your talking because kowaii means scary.

The kanji for kawaii is 可愛い.

In hiragana it's かわいい (not かうぃい)

As Sato and Liz said, it means cute, but it also means many other things.Such as -

pretty, physically attractive; darling, cute; charming; dear, precious; tiny, small

kawaii means 'cute' as in 'cute baby' or 'cute girls'.

kawaii = ka-wa-i-i = か－わ－いーい　＝　かわいい ＝ 可愛い
