  2. 'sahib' is a formal title in the urdu language given to a man much like 'mr.' is used in the english language. hence, 'khan sahib' is identical to 'mr. khan'

    If the person in question has 'Khan' for a name, Honest above is 100% correct.

    If 'Khan' is used by that person as a title, the address becomes so abjectly formal it may be taking overtones of ill disguised sarcasm.
