What does my Eye Test mean?

I've just been to the optician today and been precribed with some glasses. I just wanted to know what the results of my eye test meant as I have no idea.

The results were

SPH CYL AXIS

Right eye 0.50 0.50 170.0

Left eye 0.75 0.25 25.0

    Right Eye


     SPH     CYN    Axis


    -0.50   -1.25   180


     


    Left Eye

    Last year i had  CYN as -1.00 on both eyes. Is it compulsory that i need to change my lense ? for a change of 0.25 in CYN ??

    my eye test read the same in both eyes sph +.50 distance and +1.00 near can you please help me with this, Thanks
