What does my IQ Test Result mean?

I am 13 years old and my test result says my IQ is 123. Is this good or bad?

According to the Wechsler Intelligence Scales, an IQ Score of 123 is classified as superior intelligence. Any person with an IQ score of 123 or greater is functioning within the range of superior intelligence. The Wechsler Scales classify superior intelligence as an IQ score in the range of 120 - 129.

The average IQ score (for any age) is 100. In particular, the average IQ score for 13-year-olds is 100.

In order to interpret your score, you need to know what standard deviation the IQ test you took uses. Some tests use a standard deviation of 10, and some use a standard deviation of 15.

-If the standard deviation of your test was 10, then your IQ score was higher than 99% of 13-year-olds taking this IQ test.

-If the standard deviation of your test was 15, then your IQ score was higher than 94% of 13-year-olds taking this IQ test.

I can't tell you whether your score is "good" or "bad," but I can tell you that it is higher than the scores that most 13-year-olds get.

I hope you didn't take an online test.

If you did, that number means nothing.

if you took one from a psychologist, go back and ask him/her what that number means.

Online tests mean nothing, they are not accurate, baseless, not comparable, and entirely stupid. Just a scam.

Genius is about 140......you are in the high average range.....that is excellent. You must be very intelligent. Now go use it to make a great life for yourself. And remember....intelligence is good, but common sense is better.

123 is above average.  100 is average.  But IQ only measures your capacity to learn, not how much you know.  And IQ is very difficult to measure accurately.  So just consider that you are above average.

In the last few years we've realized that IQ is not an indicator of how well you will do in school or in a job, or how successful you will be in life.  We no longer consider it all that important unless it's very low.  

Basically an IQ of 123 means that you have more than the average ability to do well if you are focussed and make an effort.

Did you take a real one or just an online one? The online one's aren't very accurate but you could assume you are at least above average.

If you really wanted to know what your iq is you would have to pay for it at a medical school or something.

Your IQ is your ability to retain and understand information. Someone who has a higher IQ would get (example) Algebra faster than someone with a lower IQ. Yet that doesn't mean you are 'smart' or not. There are several personality qualities that people with lower IQ's could have.
