  1. If he had his own personal pension through his job then he will probably be contacted by them. If you mean state pension I'm not sure how it works as I thought it depended on N.I. contributions paid over the years?  You will probably have to make a separate claim for yourself with the DWP.

  2. He will receive a letter from the Dept of Work and Pensions at any time now. There will be a form and it should tell him how much he is going to get. He can also ring for a pension forecast he just needs to give them his National Insurance No.

  3. The pension service will contact you with all the details before he actually hits 65. If you have enough stamps on your card you will get a pension in your own right providing you are over sixty. Otherwise you will be able to get it on your husbands stamps. Enjoy your retirement both of you.

  4. Depends how old you are. If you are over 60, you will get your own pension, either in your own right at 60 if you have paid your own contributions, or when he is 65 if you claim on his contributions.

If you are under 60, he will get a dependency allowance for you with his pension. That stops at your 60th birthday, when it is paid direct to you.
