Question:

What does my liver and kidneys have to do with my bladder?

I had what I thought to be a bladder infection for a week now. I attempted to take over the counter meds and the old fashion cranberry juice and water remedy. However, this morning I woke up and decided it was time to see the Dr. I felt nauseated, dizzy, tired yet overwhelmed.

After testing my urine he concluded it was not a bladder infection. However, the bladder may be reflecting something with my liver or kidneys. So, they took blood and want me to follow up in 2 days. Meds were given and I'm now home in wonder...

Can anyone explain what the three have in common?

How and what would cause the liver OR kidneys OR both to effect the bladder?

Thanks in advance for any information.

  1. Your kidneys filter waste into your bladder, so if something is wrong with your kidneys it can effect your bladder as well.  The liver is also a filter of sorts and helps get rid of toxins/waste, if it isn't working well it effects the rest of your body including the kidneys/bladder where some of the waste is released out the body through urine.

  2. I thought the same thing until i did research, Because I had problems with all three at different times... Think of it as filters... Each one is a filter... When you drink anything it goes through the liver first then to the kidneys and in the bladder where you can then pee!! So if you keep your Liver healthy you'l have less problems with the kidney and bladder... Great that you got tested and they gave you something... Make sure you take extra care of yourself because you need those organs to survive... I know I been there! Drink a allot of water, water is the key... Our bodies are made up of mostly water... Water is a like a natural medicine for us... If you don't like to drink water then get some crystal light packets to mix... You will  be saving yourself  a trip to the doc and medicine!!!! stay hydrated and  healthy! :)

  3. your liver secretes fluids that aid in digestion (helps process the good and seperates the wastes, your kidenys filter you pee

  4. ANYTHING you consume that isn't nutrient has an effect on your liver and kidneys. They both act as the body's filters, although they filter different things.  Anything fluid that isn't directly absorbed into the body in the stomach goes through one or the other for processing.  So whatever it is that's making you sick, you ate.

  5. Hepatorenal syndrome.
