Question:

What does my old necklace mean? Chinese or Japanese or Korean?

I found this necklace at a flea market when I was about 9 or 10...I have always thought it was different but I don't have any idea what it means (yeah, stupid American). I don't even know which way it's supposed to be so I attached two pictures so that one of them has to be the correct way to read it.

Really appreciate your help! Thanks so much!!
