What does ooga booga mean ?

I'm not sure of the origin of this word. But you say 'ooga booga' to scare someone. Like if it is semi dark and you jump out in front of a friend late at night you would wave your hands and say 'ooga booga' or 'ogity boogity'.

I'm guessing that it has something to do with the boogey man?
