What does peak mean for a train station ticket?

peak and offpeak wtf does that even mean

its important i need to go on a train in 10 minutes.

    Peak stands for rush hour service. This are commonly used for subways, Long Island Railroad, New Jersey Transit, SEPTA regional rail, well as Staten Island's Atlantic Express X23/X24 and other NYCT Express bus for senior citizen including Bee-Line 4C and New Yorkwaterway's ferry shuttle bus.

    Off-Peak stands for middays, late night, weekends.

  8. Peak and Offpeak mean basically rush hour or not rush hour. Peak times are when the train is the most full. Generally, trains will run more frequently at these times.

  9. Peak means during the peak times--the crowded times, usually rush hour (mornings, into the city; afternoons, into the suburbs). Peak tickets are usually more expensive. An off-peak ticket will NOT be honored at peak times. (Check the schedule.) You will have to pay a little more.
