What does placement exam mean?

Hello,

I registered for a chemistry class last month and it asks that i must take a general placement test before class starts.

Question 1: If i happen to fail the placement test, does that mean that i am not allowed to take the class when school start?

Question 2: On the notice sheet, it stated that "this test consists of basic algebra and logic," does not mean i need not to worry about chemistry eventhough IT IS A CHEMISTRY class?

Question 3: Are there going to be problem solving relating to chemistry such as balancing equation, finding pH and such? eventhough it doesn't state on the notice sheet?

I think it depends on the school but if you fail you may still be able to stay in the class if you are a good student.  The test should have only math you need to know to learn how to do the chemistry problems.  Good luck!
