What does " Baka Ne " mean?

I've been considering geting a vanity plate for my brother. its something my grandmother used to call him very very often.

As all others said "baka" means stupid, fool, silly, and so on.

But "Baka ne" sounds very affectionate way to chide someone for their stupid/silly behavior to me.

I wouldn't be offended at all, if my family or friends say it to me 「ばかねぇ」

In Japanese Baka can mean fool or idiot.

However I'm sure that in other languages it can mean other things.

it really had to depend the whole sentence. if used solely alone, baka ne mean fool. However if used at the end of a sentence, thEN it may mean that some is about to happen.

Baka= Stupid/Fool

Ne= Aren't You

Baka Ne= You really are stupid or Aren't you stupid

Yeah "Baka" means foolish or stupid and also silly I think.

One of my American friends says to me "You are good Baka ne!" when we're joking each other and I have never felt bad about it. Because we are friends and I do know that he doesn't say it without friendship. And I use "Baka ne" to my family too.So I think that "Baka ne" has some means.

1. You are really stupid.(ex, When if you did wrong thing.)

2.You are silly.(ex, When if you and someone were acting silly or joking.)

You can think what the situations were.I don't think "Baka ne" is bad all the way.

Well, In Japanese Baka means stupid and foolish. I looked it up in my Japanese dictionary and there was 'Baka Na' which was stupid and foolish. I'm guessing that Baka Ne is idiot from the Japanese that I've studied before.
