  1. It means it can accept an input that is between 100-240 volts and has a frequency of 50-60 hertz.

    It will work in japan, they use either 50 or 60 hertz depending on where you go and they use the same type "A" plug that we do!

  2. 100- 240volts is the range of voltage that the camera can be used with. 50/60Hz is the frequency range that it can be used with. You'd have to find what voltage and frequency is used in Japan.

  3. it means that you do not have to adjust anything on your charger to work. the only thing is that changes is the wall plug. the japan wall plug is usually the two parallel blade type that will accept US plugs that don't have the ground connector.  if there is a plug problem, getting the adaptor in japan will be much easier than trying to find one here.
