  1. "Bait and Switch" is a fraud used by people or companies to advertise a product at a ridiculously low price.  You run to the store when a brand new computer is advertised for only $99.   You get there and they have none in stock but want to sell you something else for a much higher price.  It's illegal.  They never had a computer for that price and just want to sucker people in to sell them something more expensive.  Usually telling you the $99 computer is out of stock and how lucky you are to be getting the better computer for only $1,200.  Making you feel good you didn't get cheated by them.

  2. I don't know what it means in water sports but in sales its when you advertise a great deal on an item, but when the customer comes in you play it down or mysteriously all out of stock but you have a pricier, more profitable, item to sell them, that does so much more too.

  3. In my world it means...Tell you what you want to hear until you get what you want then just leave.......!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)
