  1. Many times suppliers will ship a plant "dormant" to protect it until it is time to plant it when it reaches its destination and as Alec and Lil Miss stated - the plant is sleep. But the warm earth, Sun and water should revive it.


  2. Dormant means that it was in a state of sleep like when plants lie dormant in the winter. They are waiting for the next growing season to start.

  3. When a plant is dormant it means that it isn't growing or its growth is very slow. Basically when it was shipped they didn't want it growing inside its packaging. So don't be surprised if it takes a while before you see new growth on it.
