  1. I think a freight train is a train on which a client can reserve accomodation for his freight.


  2. I believe that Rango is correct.  An accommodation freight takes a variety of items, typically on a local run, as opposed to a thru freight that hauls a long string of similar cars over a long distance.

  3. I have never heard that term but I will go out on a limb and guess from the name it is what they call "manifest trains" here or trains that can accommodate any type of freight that is assigned to it.

    As opposed to trains designated for one specific type of freight, such as coal, grain, fuel, etc.
