I have an Italian banking account and every three months or so this is listed as an expense. I do not understand this. I have closed nothing to my knowledge. Grazie

  1. It is rather weird.. these are charged annually, if it is the costs of the bank account, or if you close the account. Unless in your contract there is something specifying that the expenses are split on a quarterly basis (which could be), this is not proper. I suggest you contact your bank director anyway. Write me if you need help in preparing the letter.

  2. I also would translate that as "fee for closure" .   I think you should query this expense with the bank as you say you haven't closed any accounts.

Oh - another thought - have you cancelled any direct or automatic payments?  Perhaps that is their term for their charge for doing so?

  3. It's normal. It's a sort of fee, the "chiusura" they're speaking about is the "closure" of the counts of the three months.

Only online banks, like Fineco, don't charge this kind of fees.
