What does "core" mean in most brand names etc...?

Im just wondering what core means in brand, band etc... names. For example, i like the site www.depthcore.com what does core usually mean? I might wanna use it as part of a site name im gonna make.

In most cases each letter stands for something ..

For example:

Core-online.com ---- Congress of Racial Equality.

Core.Gov ---- Component Organization and Registration Environment

Core-rehab.org ---- Council on Rehabilitation Education

So your site should have a name that can be abbreviated into the word CORE.

However in the case of Depthcore.com

I know nothing about that site, but it seems to collect art from various artist. So perhaps they view themselves as the most essential or most vital place to post/collect this type of art. Core can also be defined as a small group of indispensable things.. Maybe these are indispensable in their minds. There could be numerous reasons they used the CORE in their name.
