  1. The Glass Ceiling often refers to the fact that there are barriers to women achieving their potential in the business world. In the Context of Hillary Clinton's speech, it means that whereas a woman has not yet become President, the fact that she nearly won the nomination has made it easier for the next woman to break that barrier.
