What does "emotional attachment" means between two people?

Can it be like friends or is mostly use as romantic, and how to know when that's happening? Between man and woman of course!

emotional attachment is when you and your significant other always have to talk and are attatched to each other.

pretty much saying you like each other and wanna be a couple.

'Emotional Attachment' IS usually used as romance, but it may also mean a closeness to someone else besides a significant other such as your brother / parent or a friend.

It could be romantic or platonic, but it obviously infers a personal closeness.

when you have an emotional attachment to someone, it means you have a deep emotional bond with that person.  Thinking of the person stirs up deep feelings, and yes it could be between friends as well as in a romantic relationship.  You could have a deep emotional attachment to your childhood best friend, for example, who may have seen you through many hard times. The two of you have shared experiences that connect you emotionally.

Technically, you can have an emotional attachment to an object as well.  An example would be just not being able to throw away your favourite stuffed animal that comforted you as a little kid.  You have an emotional attachment to us because of the pleasant memories it gives you.
