  1. generally, it is a somewhat formal and polite way of saying

    "You really should know that........" or " I want you to be aware that....", or "I wish to tell you that ....(e.g.  "the plane departs at noon"

    In other words, you know, or suspect the recipient of the message (oral or written), is perhaps not aware of certain information, and you intend to tell him!


  2. "If you want to know more about it, i will add". or  "I say this only by way of suggestion"

    For your information, it will rain today.

    you'd better know that it will rain today.
