  1. "fritz", just like "frisé" or "fridolin" was the friendly nickname of french fascists for germans.

    But "frites" is french fries.

  3. "fritz" is the nickname french people (and not only fascists, but all of them) gave to german occupating soldiers during the WWII... and it was not friendly at all (I think he confused with "the friend Fritz", a book written in 19th century, nothing to do with what you want).

    cause "Fritz" was a frequent german name by the 1940s (Frederic in english, i guess).

  4. Never saw it anywhere in France, never heard it mentioned. Besides, there's no word in French without a single vowel. It is probably a made up meaningless word.
