Hi and the meaning of the word maverick is an unorthodox or independent minded person. Like a person who makes up his own mind and doesn't go with the flow. You are a one of a kind kind of guy and that is a good thing- it makes you think on your own and decide to do things your way-not follow the others. Peace out and  have a great day you Maverick you! A maverick is a person who shows independence of thought or action, a non-conformist or rebel.

Usually when I hear the word I think of someone who is slick and has natural talent at something (i.e. poker.)
