What does "history or serology" mean in regards to immunizations?

i am filling out an immunization record and it says the following:

"Varicella (chickenpox)---

History --yes/no date:______

Serology -- pos/neg date:______"

what does this mean?

  1. History means: have you had it and when?

    Serology means:  have you been tested for antibodies to chickenpox, when and what were teh results?

    Most people that have never had chickenpox (9 out of 10) are already immune from antibodies from being exposed.

    Now, some children are vaccinated.
