  1. I'm jealous of you. Envy is jealousy. It's a noun and a verb. I envy you. I am filled with envy.

EDIT: The guy above me, what you explained is exactly what jealousy is, so if envy is what you explained then envy is jealousy smart butt.

  2. They are wishing they have what you have.

  3. envy is jealousy.  It's one of the Bible's seven deadly sins.

the person is jealous of something about you.  They could be trying to tell you that you've done well for yourself, but directly it just means you did something, or have something they wish they had done, or wish they had.

  4. No, it's the feeling you have inside when you wish that you had what the other person has or did what the other person did. It's like a sadness which having been felt is put to one side and generally forgotten about - unlike a jealousy.

  5. envy means jealous. so "i envy you" means I'm jealous of you. you know the saying "green with envy"? it means green (full)with jealousy

  6. It's not jealousy, where you would resent someone for what they have. Envy is a longing and desire for the person's advantage.
