What does "i need you like water in my lungs" mean?

ive heard it alot i just never quite understood it O.O

  1. its like saying " I need you like a hole in my head". it means they really really don't need you.


  2. You don't need water in your lungs, so this probably means that they don't need you, I guess.

  3. People don't need water in their lungs, so I would assume this would mean they don't need you.  Or whomever they were referring to.

  5. it means that i really do not need you. water is not supposed to be in the lungs, air should be so saying i need you like water in my lungs is quite the opposite of needing.
