  1. Just that people are very fond of their delusions and denials.

  2. I think it's like, for example, you met someone whom you believe is perfect ( i mean not by appearance but by custom) and you believed that don't do bad things but one day, you would see him doing bad things...

Now, my answer to your question is in your illusion, he is perfect and that you admired him for being like the one in your "illusion"...

PS I know its hard to understand my explanation... even me... I can't understand it that much but at least i tried to answer it and thanks for the two points anyway!

  3. It's from Voltaire actually I think.

One meaning is that a basic human pleasure arises from believing things that aren't true

    e.g. God/Jesus loves me

My children are the best on earth

My country is the best on earth

My wife is the best on earth

  4. i believe it comes from Voltaire.

  5. Valentin hit the nail square on the head; go with his answer!

  6. I agree with Valentin completely. All pains and pleasures arise from our inadequacies in understanding the truth. As they say this world is a mere "Maya" and we all are simply chasing  an illusion. When we go beyond Pain and pleasure we seek the truth.
