What does "komanechi" mean?

that word is coupled with a certain body gesture where a person creates a "V" with is two hands going up from his thighs....what does that mean?..I saw it in Honey and Clover live

  1. That move was created by the comedian, actor and director Takeshi "Beat" Kitano as part of his comedy act. I believe that it is a reference to Romanian gymnastics superstar Nadia Comaneci.

    Mr. Kitano is known for that move (as well as numerous other things) in Japan.

    The word is also used in the Kitano "Beat" Takeshi-hosted Fuji TV variety show "Takeshi no Comaneci Dauigaku Suugakuka" (Comaneci University Mathematics). It has been nominated for an International Emmy award.
