What does "life is but a dream" mean?

can anyone interpret this quote. i kinda have a meaning, but i want to make sure

Life is just merely what you make it. Its a dream coz' something that occurs in our life comes from our mind. It is just you yourself makes your dreams a reality. Life is but a dream for it starts within a dream that becomes a reality.

It means life is what you make of it.   So if you dare to dream, envision what you want it to be - it becomes your reality.   It goes right along with the saying "You can be anything you want to be..."

That life is your reality not what others tell you it is so therefore you are dreaming and all others are awake. Personally i would rather be dreaming.

It can be interpreted various ways.  However, I believe it to mean life is what you make of it or life moves fast and can seem like a dream.

in dreamz anything is possible, impossible becomes possible.  in life there are limitations with unseen forces that work along with our motives to confuse us more on the path to fullfillment.  life is but a dream - nothing is so easy as to dream it n make it happen right tht moment without obstacles standing in way.
