I'm trying to learn about investing in the stock market, and one web site, Ask Stock Guru, uses the phrase "Risky Long Entry" a lot, and I'm not sure what it means.

  1. A long position is simply you are a holder (owner) of a security.

When you own a security, it is said you are "long" as to being short.

really that simple. hope you got it

  2. Buying long is the opposite of selling short, and in fact is way more common. It's simply buying and holding a stock.

I think it's unlikely the meaning above regarding a call is accurate because he's the stock guru guy not the options guru guy, plus I've never heard of a call referenced to that way.

Basically a position on a stock in your account is either long (short term  or long term) or short.

  3. Long entry is "Call entry" expect the market to go up.
