It's an Orbit timer and I noticed on the screen it said "off pwr" but I have no idea what it means. Orbit's site/phone service haven't helped.

I thought it was the AC outlet so I tried another but it was still the same.

  1. USUALLY,,, "off pwr" means that a manual selection, or defaut selection has turned off the power.  There is still power being supplied to the timer, but the timer has it blocked by an internal switch so the power is not being supplied beyond that switch.

Think of any appliance you use with an on and off switch, the power is always there, but the appliance is not using it unless it is turned on and that appliance is thus not functioning.

This "off pwr" feature is mainly used in areas where freezing occurs to prevent the timer from kicking in and activating your sprinklers in cold weather.  It is also useful when you are getting adequate, or above adequate, natural  rainfall so you do not overwater.

You will have to refer to the owner's manual to get the steps required to enable your timer and allow the system to work.

  2. it means that the fuse has blown usually caused by a bad solenoid on one of the valves ..take the fuse with you to the suplyhouse and buy several of them ,as you will need them to fix the problem.replace the fuse and maualy turn each station to see which station blows the fuse.look inside the timer at the connections to see what color the wire is for that station. now look at your valves and follow the same color wire to the problem solenoid, shut the water off ,unscrew the solenoid and TAKE IT TO THE SUPLYHOUSE FOR AN EXACT REPLACEMENT. if the fuse is not blown ,then the plug in transformer is bad.
