What does "politics of representation" mean?

Probably a system that is supposed to set up goverment that is to serve and represent the people. However part of our system is corrupt due to the greed of politicians who think the power is theres. We the people should have the power over the goverment. If a politicain is not meeting our needs and not listening to us, we should have every right to end him where he stands. Politicians may have an education in law and politics, but it means nothing if that politician can't represent the will of the people.  

The goverment exist to serve us.

But thats my ranting on Revolution. Basically elected represenatives to carry out wants of the people in the area there representing.
