  1. People usually use that phrase in referance to a man doing something that would question his sexual orientation or gender role, for example, My friend Dave is secure enough in his manhood to knit me a scarf. Knitting is usually a woman's hobby but Dave knows he is not g*y or feminine and does not care that society may think that its going against gender roles. he does not feel the need to act macho or "like a man" so to speak.

  2. My hunny and I were on our way to Home Depot the other day, and I noticed they had just opened a new ultra girly store in the same shopping center. I said "oooh! I wanna go there" and he said "OK." This place had nothing for men. It was all cosmetics, shampoo, perfume....but he went in without complaining that someone might think he was g*y. He played with the hair dryers while I picked out shampoo...

A guy who was NOT secure in his manhood would have refused to go in.

  3. A man who is an independant thinker and is unconcerned with the opinions of others is secure in his manhood. He is someone whom does not worry about the petty judgements of others but is true to himself. Weather a man is g*y or straight he can still be "secure in his manhood."

In the end it is a very free and liberating feeling we all can enjoy.

  4. It means that he's safely secured in his burlap man-hood.

  5. ex: "You're g*y"

"No, I'm just secure with my manhood"

It's like..when a guy is okay with not acting like a "sterotypical" guy because he knows who he is and that's all that matters...kinda...idk...

  6. It infers that a man doesn't need to justify his likes and dislikes just because something may not conform to stereotypical gender expectations.

  7. It means that things often considered feminine would be ok for this man to do because he is confident, and comfortable, ie crying at a movie, yes wearing a pink shirt (I still hate that) hugging another man etc.

  8. "I am masculine no matter what I do/wear"

    *Wears tutu and spins*

  9. I take it to mean that a man is secure enough in his heterosexuality that he doesn't fear being labeled a homosexual for giving another man a hug, for example.  Or maybe he does wear a pink shirt or push the baby stroller.  A secure man in general.  Secure men (and women) don't care what other people think or how they might appear to other people.  I am married to a "secure" man who pushes the baby stroller, holds my purse, hugs his guy friends, doesn't wear pink, but he will wear yellow.  He does these things because he is helpful, caring, and realizes I only have two arms or his guy friends need support too or the baby can't push himself in the stroller.

  10. It means he's a man and makes no excuses for it, and doesn't really care if someone doesn't like it.  I'm an example.

  11. He wears pink polo's

  12. My "guy" best friend is the perfect example of 'being secure in his manhood"!  My friend gets pedicures/manicures, shops more than any woman I know, wears very "trendy" clothes, cries, trims (if you know what I mean!), and does household chores!!  With that being said, he is also the biggest nympho I know...... he LOVES the ladies!!!  He does all of these things to impress the ladies and I have often heard him say that a lot of men make fun of him for doing these things, but he is proud to say that he is getting a lot "more" from the ladies than these macho men! :)

  13. That a guy is not afraid to show his feminine side.  He's sure he's a heterosexual male.  For example, crying at his wedding or the birth of his child.
