What does "service to others" mean to you???

I have to write an essay on the above topic. I am stuck after the introduction...What does it mean to you?

to me it means to lay down everything for others, thats what JESUS did for all man kind! J.O.Y.    Jesus Others Yourself

It means doing things for others without thought of reward or gain.  Helping without expectations for yourself.

for me service to others means helping the people who are poor and needy.. it means having genuine concern for others and unselfishness..
