What does "skinny/curvy" mean?

Question

I recently answered a question for someone to make me an outfit (just for fun, never tried it before) and the asker asked what our body types were.

I noticed alot of girls put down skinny/curvy or skinny and curvy or something like that. what does that mean?

Slim hips and big b***s?

slim hips and a big butt?

its just funny because normally skinny girls dont exactly have curves.

normally i'd say they were opposites, but I'd imagine here that people were worried you'd think curvy = fat, so i think they probably meant slim and curvy (they cinch in at the waist!)

Actually, skinny girls can have rather larger curvy rears without the curvy hips.  Some may have larger breast without curvy hips nor much of a rear end.

God made us all different. Aren't you glad.  It is because of this, we never have to compete with another person. We are unique made in His image.

Well, If someone asked me what my body type was i'd say skinny & curvy too. First, because I am skinny. I have flatabs, little fat, but at the same time, the figure of my body isn't just straight lines. Maybe hourglass would be a good way to describe it.

So I guess best explained would be to say skinny girls that have an hourglass figure.

Well that was a dumb way for them to ask because being curvy doesn't mean you aren't skinny.

Curvy is having a large waist to hip ratio or having a little waist and bigger hips and thighs in relation to your waist.  Normaly curvy girls have larger chests too but not always.  It could be an hourglass shape or a pear shape, both are curvy body types.

"Skinny" girls are straighter up and down and don't have hips, their waist goes into their hips without making any kind of a curve and they normally have small chests.  There aren't many actually "skinny" girls because when a girl hits puberty her hips get bigger so she's able to have children.

its because societies idea of curvy is very distorted nowadays, i think its funny that televsion and magazines call girsl like jessica alba curvey. Yeah so she has b***s that are bigger than an A maybe a B, and she has hips that don't look like a man, that makes a girl curvy?

She doesn't look curvey to me, where are these curves, last time i checked she was just skinny

hold on a sec!! well think of a women with curves but shrunken like fun size lol. that's what is it I'm skinny but still have curves like I am a size 24 or 00 in jeans but bra wise I'm a 34C and I wear a medium in victorias secret underwear because I do have small hips but sometimes it's hard for me to find jeans because my hips are small and I'm only 5"3 but I have a bigger butt. like is still have flat abs but I def have b***s for being only 16 and I def have a but and curvier legs.

The language has been changed, according to polictical correctness.

"Skinny" means attractively shaped, and it's the word used by fat girls who are jealous. Normally, it meants unusually gaunt or overly thin (that's the proper usage).

"Curvy," "thick" and "big" are often PC words for FAT (even though they don't mean that).

The PC language is mainly used to protect fat people from being offended.

Liberals today are corrupting the language, and sensible people need to reseize control of the diciontary. I'm thinking about writing my own dictionary for our time, that will help to preserve the traditional English language.

The insulting and offensive term "homophobe" and other vulgar words will be excluded from my dictionary, and other words such as "g*y" will be restored to their proper meaning.

I might consider including an ex'pose of false, changed words in my dictionary, as well.

well my friends refer to me as skinny but curvy, when I ask them why, they say because I have a little waist with big hips. My waist is 25 and hips are 37, so I guess that is what they mean.
