what does "some" mean say for example, i know some english or some french? what does it mean? does it mean that he knows enough french to get by or what?

  1. some means a little bit not full..see the example below and hope it helps...

    The glass is FULL of milk.

    There is SOME milk in the glass.

    In the example given by you, it means the guy knows a little bit of both english and french..but not fully knows it.
