You could also say- Soy atletica. (needs accent on the e)

Well, when you say soy muy deportista, you want to put a yo in front of the soy, then your saying i am very athletic, and i like sports is yo me gusta deportes, which means sports, so the right way to say i am very athletic would be yo soy muy deportista!
