What does "work even" mean in crochet directions?

like when you're crocheting in a round and it says that. what does it mean?

to continue with the pattern or stitch for however many rows or stitches it specifies.

it means don't increase or decrease as you work, just continue until you have the instructed number of rows, rounds or inches.

Answer 3

You will do no increasing or decreasing.  You just continue working on the same number of stitches for however many rows the pattern states.
