What does "yikes" mean under those circumstances?

i was on my friend's computer and i saw a file named "yikes" and there were pictures of me. i got mad at him cos to me it meant like "yuck" he was making fun of me. but he told me it meant he liked the pictures. what does it mean?

the pictures are normal pictures, not me making faces or things like that.
