  1. A child that knows his / her ABC's can count at least to 20. can got to the bathrooms on their own and feed them self are good aspects for early childhood program.

  2. Read some research and find out.

  3. the top 3 motivators of human spirit is

    3. music

    2. love

    1. holy spiritual contacts.

love the infant, pray for spiritual guidances to befall upon him/her.  stay pure for such blessing in to come in an holy way.

if ya wanted secular aspects, the research is a foregone conclusion

  4. In general, instruction should be progressively difficult, repetitive, move from the concrete (hand-on) to the pictoral to the abstract and positive and socially interactive.  Look up brain plasticity at www.ask.com for the latest on brain learning research

  5. There are, of course, several.  I'll outline a few:

    1.  Developmentally Appropriate Programming:  This means that activities and learning experiences are appropriate to where the child is on a developmental spectrum.  For example, you wouldn't have an infant playing with sharpened pencils or a preschooler playing with toddler toys.

    2.  Creative Learning Experiences:  These can be in the areas of music, drama, creative movement, art, storytelling and more.  Children should be able initiate creativity as much as possible and not exclusively imitate.  For example, children should be able to use materials in the way that they see fit.  "Cookie Cutter" activities should be used sparingly.

    3.  A rich, literate environment:  While it is not appropriate that all children in early childhood begin to read formally, exposure to the spoken and written word is essential, and children need to hear the language spoken correctly.  A love of reading can be born in children as young as infants.  Don't push the formal training too much though!

    Hope this helps.

  6. I want the children in my class to become self sufficient. Put their  coats on, put their scraps into the trash can, open their lunch boxes, put their papers into their back packs, get their crayons, pencils and other supplies out and put them back when done. Get toys out and put them away before going to another center to play. I really want the child to want to come to school and to want to learn and try new things. I want them to learn social skills and getting along with others. They need to learn to play cooperatively with more than one other child at a time. At this point in my life I have no idea what research shows but I do know that this is what I have learned after twenty two years in the field and what I have been taught in the many classes and workshops I have taken.
