  1. well some people cannot resist grabbing a dorsal fin of a shark ( presumable a non-agressive one like nurse or sandbar shark ) and being dragged along swimming in "concert " with the shark. On occasion one attempts to straddle the shark ( if it has a small girth ) and ride in the typical position. All this is nonsensical bravado and is greatly discouraged. Even nurse sharks ( Ginglymostoma cirratum) although generally docile can move quickly and inflict a serious bite on tormentors.  Raising sharks means simply providing the environment so the shark can manitain relatively normal haeth so it can be used as an aquarium specimen or for biomedical research or behavior research. Not all sharks do well in captivity and many free swimming sharks do NOT make useful aquarium or research animals
