What does sleeping gas feel like

Question

For people who have been put to sleep by actually breathing in sleeping gas, I was wondering what it actually feels like. Like do u actually feel really sleepy or do you just pass out before you feel anything. I'm curious cuz I will have a surgery next week and they said they will make me fall asleep with gas instead of the IV cuz i dont like needles

they make you count backwards from 10 or say your abc's or something stupid like that but most of the time if you are counting you don't even get to like 7. you jus i guess fall asleep you won't even know that you were asleep until you wake up.

they put in on you and like you pass out, doesnt hurt or harm you in any ways. i wish i had one of those things cus i cant fall asleep at night

You get really drousy, the world goes all blury and your head feels so heavy. It only lasts a few seconds though, the next thing you know, you're waking up in a hospital bed. It'll be fine, don't worry.

you don't even feel it for 10 seconds, they just do it and say count back from ten, you just basically fall a sleep i think i made it to 7 before i fell asleep.

From what I can remember, they asked me to count from 10 backwards.

I don't even remember counting.  I never even felt sleepy, I just...fell asleep and the next thing I knew I was in the hospital room.  I was a little groggy waking up though.

Oh, and I don't like needles either...but I was in the hospital 3 weeks ago and they had literally 3 IVs in me and they would changed them every 3 days to prevent infection or bleeding.  And even though I hate hate hate needles, the IVs really weren't that bad.  Sometimes I didn't even notice that they put them in.

when i was 6 i had to have a surgery with that

it was stupid i counted to 3 and then passed out

but when i woke up ouch it hurt so bad and then they gave me popsicles and toast lol

its not that bad i barely remember anything ;]
