  1. Know certain things thru formal educations? I'd say well-educated. But know how to deal with problems? I'd say smart.

  2. OVERDOSE of mastery to show off while hiding away his or her little knowledge.

  3. knowledgeable compared to someone else

  4. Smart is the ability to use the intelligence one has no matter whether one's competitor is more intelligent, or simply big--like moving a mountain to build a road.

"Intelligence is the ability to deal with a broad range of abstractions. Whatever a child’s natural endowment, the use of intelligence is an acquired skill." Ayn Rand

The "use of intelligence" is "smarts." Someone with an IQ of 110 can be "smarter" than someone with an IQ of 125. It all depends on what you do with it.

  5. 'Smart' originally meant sharp, severe, or stinging. It had nothing necessarily to do with intelligence. And it still retains some of that meaning today - if you are 'smartly dressed', it doesn't mean you look like a nerd.

The most core meaning of smart with regard to mental ability, then, is as a synonym for quick-witted. It is a person who can come to clever decisions quickly.  Of course, if you are being more biting then clever, you're not quite 'smart', you are a 'smart Aleck'.

  6. Smart means specific, measurable, attainable, reliable and time-bounded.

Thanks for asking. Have a great day!

  7. .....you know alot

  8. Socially, psychologically and emotionally intellegent. Not academic-that is something completely irrelevent when it comes to being 'smart'.
